Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound ground chicken
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 bell pepper, finely chopped (any color)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can tomato sauce (8 oz)
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce (optional)
  • to taste salt
  • to taste pepper
  • 4 units hamburger buns
  • for garnish fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions
 

  • In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and bell pepper. Sauté for about 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are softened.
  • Add the minced garlic to the skillet and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
  • Increase the heat to medium-high and add the ground chicken to the skillet. Cook, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon, until it's browned and cooked through (about 5-7 minutes).
  • Stir in the tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, Cajun seasoning, hot sauce (if using), and season with salt and pepper. Let the mixture simmer for about 5 minutes to allow flavors to meld together.
  • While the chicken mixture simmers, toast the hamburger buns in a toaster or oven until lightly golden.
  • Spoon the Cajun chicken mixture onto the bottom half of each toasted bun. Top with fresh parsley if desired, and place the top half of the bun on each sandwich.
  • Serve the Cajun Chicken Sloppy Joes immediately and enjoy!

Notes

Feel free to adjust the level of Cajun seasoning and hot sauce based on your spice preference.
Serve with a side of coleslaw or potato chips for a complete meal.
