1 mixing bowl
1 whisk or electric mixer
2 baking sheets
1 parchment paper or silicone baking mat
1 cookie scoop or tablespoon
1 cooling rack
- 1 box cake mix 15.25 oz, any flavor, such as vanilla or chocolate.
- ½ cup unsalted butter Softened (1 stick).
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup chocolate chips or festive sprinkles Optional.
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Optional.
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
In a mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, softened butter, and eggs. If using, add vanilla extract. Mix until well combined and a dough forms.
If you are adding chocolate chips or sprinkles, fold them into the dough using a spatula or wooden spoon.
Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, scoop out portions of dough and place them on the prepared baking sheets, leaving about 2 inches of space between each cookie.
Bake in the preheated oven for 8–10 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden. The centers may look slightly underbaked; they will firm up as they cool.
Remove from the oven and allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a cooling rack to cool completely.
Feel free to customize your cookies by adding nuts, dried fruits, or frosting.
Store the cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week.
You can freeze the dough if you want to bake them later. Just thaw in the refrigerator before baking.
