Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 1 cup almond butter or peanut butter
  • ½ cup honey or maple syrup
  • ½ cup cocoa powder
  • ½ cup dark chocolate chips
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9x9-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy removal.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the rolled oats, cocoa powder, and salt. Mix well.
  • In another bowl, mix together the almond butter, honey, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Pour the almond butter mixture into the bowl with oats and cocoa powder. Stir until everything is well combined.
  • Fold in the dark chocolate chips into the mixture.
  • Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking pan. Press it down firmly and evenly.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 25 minutes, or until the edges are slightly firm.
  • Remove from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Use the parchment paper overhang to lift the bars out onto a wire rack.
  • Allow the bars to cool completely before cutting into 12 squares.

Notes

Feel free to customize the bars by adding nuts, seeds, or dried fruits as desired.
Store the bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week, or refrigerate for longer freshness.
These bars can also be wrapped individually and frozen for on-the-go snacks.
