1 Medium saucepan
1 9x9 inch baking pan
1 Parchment paper
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup sweetened condensed milk (14 oz can)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ cup chopped walnuts or pecans optional
- ½ cup holiday-themed sprinkles optional
Line the 9x9 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving some overhang to make it easy to lift the fudge out later. Set aside.
In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine the semi-sweet chocolate chips and sweetened condensed milk. Stir constantly until the chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is smooth.
Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract. If desired, fold in the chopped walnuts or pecans for added texture.
Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared baking pan and spread it out evenly.
If using, sprinkle the holiday-themed sprinkles on top of the fudge, gently pressing them into the surface.
Allow the fudge to cool at room temperature for about 1 hour, then transfer it to the refrigerator for at least 2 hours to set completely.
Once set, lift the fudge out of the pan using the parchment paper overhang. Cut into 16 equal pieces.
For variations, you can add different types of chocolate, such as white or milk chocolate.
You can also use flavored extracts, such as peppermint or almond, for a festive twist.
Store any leftover fudge in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
