Ingredients
  

  • 8 slices white bread Flatten the slices with a rolling pin.
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ cup cream cheese, softened Mix with cinnamon sugar for filling.
  • 2 large eggs For the egg batter.
  • ½ cup milk For the egg batter.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract For flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter For cooking the roll-ups.

Instructions
 

  • Flatten the bread slices with a rolling pin to make them easier to roll up.
  • Mix the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon together in a small bowl and set aside.
  • Combine the softened cream cheese with 2 tablespoons of the cinnamon sugar mixture until well mixed.
  • Spread the cream cheese mixture onto each slice of flattened bread, covering the entire surface.
  • Roll up each slice of bread tightly from one end to the other, securing the filling inside.
  • Whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and remaining cinnamon sugar in a separate bowl.
  • Heat a frying pan or griddle over medium heat and melt butter to coat the surface.
  • Dip each roll-up into the egg mixture, ensuring they're fully coated but not overly soaked.
  • Place the roll-ups in the heated pan seam side down and cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown.
  • Dust with powdered sugar if desired and serve warm with maple syrup.

Notes

You can customize the filling by adding chopped nuts or chocolate chips.
