Ingredients
  

  • 3 cups cooked, shredded chicken You can use rotisserie chicken to save time.
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup crumbled bacon About 6 slices.
  • 1 cup frozen tater tots
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup green onions, chopped For garnish, optional.

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked shredded chicken, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, ¾ cup of the shredded cheddar cheese, crumbled bacon, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt. Mix until all ingredients are well combined.
  • Spread the chicken mixture evenly in a greased 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • Layer the frozen tater tots over the chicken mixture, covering it completely.
  • Bake the casserole in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
  • After 30 minutes, remove the casserole from the oven and sprinkle the remaining ¼ cup of shredded cheddar cheese on top.
  • Return the casserole to the oven and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the tater tots are golden brown and crispy.
  • Once done, remove the casserole from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with chopped green onions if desired.

Notes

You can use rotisserie chicken to save time.
Feel free to personalize the recipe by adding vegetables like peas or corn for extra nutrition.
Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven or microwave before serving.
