- 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts 1.5 lbs total
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup grated Asiago cheese
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- to taste none salt
- to taste none pepper
- for garnish none fresh parsley, chopped
Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning on both sides.
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Once hot, add the chicken breasts and cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir occasionally, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet.
Gradually add the grated Asiago cheese, stirring until melted and the sauce is creamy. Adjust the seasoning with additional salt and pepper if needed.
Return the cooked chicken breasts to the skillet, spooning the sauce over them. Let them simmer in the sauce for about 2-3 minutes to absorb the flavors.
Garnish with freshly chopped parsley before serving.
You can add vegetables such as spinach or mushrooms to the sauce for added nutrition and flavor.
This dish pairs well with a side of garlic bread or a simple green salad.
