Equipment

  • 1 Crock Pot (slow cooker) 6 to 8-quart
  • 1 Measuring cups
  • 1 Measuring spoons
  • 1 Basting brush
  • 1 Cutting board
  • 1 Sharp knife

Ingredients

  • 8 to 10 pounds fully cooked bone-in ham
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup honey
  • ½ cup Dijon mustard
  • ¼ cup apple cider vinegar
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cloves
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

  • Begin by removing the ham from its packaging and placing it on a cutting board. If your ham has a thick layer of fat, score the surface in a diamond pattern to allow the glaze to penetrate the meat.
  • In a medium bowl, combine the brown sugar, honey, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, ground cloves, black pepper, and cinnamon. Mix well until you have a smooth glaze.
  • Place the ham into the Crock Pot, cut side down, to allow it to heat through properly.
  • Brush the glaze generously over the ham, making sure to cover all those scored areas and the ends.
  • Cover the Crock Pot with its lid and set it to low heat for about 6 hours. If your ham is larger or you prefer it extra tender, consider extending the cooking time by an hour or two.
  • During the cooking process, you can baste the ham with the juices developing in the bottom of the Crock Pot every hour to enhance the flavor.
  • Once done, carefully remove the ham from the Crock Pot. Let it rest for about 15 minutes before slicing. Serve warm with your favorite sides.

Notes

You can adjust the sweetness or spice level of the glaze based on your preferences. Add more honey for sweetness or a touch of cayenne pepper for a kick.
Leftover ham is great for sandwiches, soups, or omelets.
Pair this ham with sides like roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, or asparagus for a complete meal.
