Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 4 cups chopped green cabbage About half a medium head.
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 medium carrot, julienned
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce Optional.
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • to taste salt
  • for garnish spring onions Optional.

Instructions
 

  • Heat the large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the vegetable oil and let it heat for a minute.
  • Add the diced onion and sauté for about 2 minutes until they start to soften.
  • Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds, being careful not to burn it.
  • Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it up with the wooden spoon. Cook until it's browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Add the chopped cabbage and julienned carrots. Stir everything together and continue to cook for another 3-4 minutes until the cabbage wilts and becomes tender.
  • Pour in the soy sauce and oyster sauce (if using). Stir to combine and season with ground black pepper and salt to taste.
  • Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes to heat everything through and allow the flavors to meld.
  • Remove from heat and garnish with chopped spring onions if desired.

Notes

Feel free to add other vegetables such as bell peppers or snap peas for extra nutrition and color.
This dish can also be served over cooked rice, quinoa, or noodles for a heartier meal.
Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
