Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar packed
  • ½ cup unsalted butter melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ cup chocolate chips optional
  • N/A N/A Nuts for topping (optional)

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and melted butter. Whisk together until smooth.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • In another bowl, combine the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  • If using, fold in the chocolate chips and nuts until evenly distributed.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly with a spatula.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs (not wet batter).
  • Remove from the oven and let cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • Once cooled, cut into squares and serve.

Notes

Make sure not to overbake the brownies for a fudgier texture.
Feel free to add your favorite mix-ins such as walnuts, pecans, or even chunks of caramel for added flavor.
Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for longer freshness.
