Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound ground beef or chicken
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
  • ½ cup honey
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with water (for thickening) 1 tablespoon of water

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the ground meat, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, minced garlic, salt, pepper, and parsley (if using). Mix until just combined.
  • Form the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch (2.5 cm) in diameter, and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for 20 minutes or until they are fully cooked and golden brown.
  • While the meatballs are baking, prepare the sauce. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and rice vinegar. Bring to a simmer.
  • Cook for about 2-3 minutes, then stir in the cornstarch mixture. Cook for another minute until the sauce has thickened.
  • Once the meatballs are done baking, toss them in the honey garlic sauce until well coated.
  • Serve the meatballs warm, garnished with additional parsley if desired.

Notes

These meatballs can be served over rice, noodles, or with a side of vegetables.
Leftover meatballs can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or frozen for later use.
Adjust the sweetness of the sauce by adding more or less honey to suit your taste.
