Ingredients
  

  • 4 fillets cod About 6 ounces each.
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter ½ stick.
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 lemon zest Zest of 1 lemon.
  • 2 cloves garlic Minced.
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • as needed serving lemon wedges For serving.

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Once melted, remove from heat and stir in the lemon juice, lemon zest, minced garlic, dried parsley, salt, and pepper.
  • Place the cod fillets in the baking dish and pour the lemon butter mixture evenly over the top.
  • Bake the cod in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork and is cooked through.
  • Once baked, remove from the oven. Serve the cod with fresh lemon wedges on the side.

Notes

For a different flavor profile, feel free to add some capers or a pinch of red pepper flakes to the butter sauce for added kick.
This dish pairs well with steamed vegetables or a side salad for a complete meal.
Ensure the cod is fresh and properly thawed if using frozen fillets for the best results.
