1 large pot
1 colander
1 mixing bowl
1 small bowl
1 spoon
1 grater (optional)
1 skillet
1 tongs
- 1.5 pounds fresh lobster meat About 2 large lobsters.
- ¼ cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh chives
- 1 tablespoon diced celery
- salt and pepper To taste.
- 4 pieces hot dog buns
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- lettuce leaves Optional, for serving.
Fill a large pot with water and bring it to a boil.
Carefully add the lobsters to the boiling water and cook for about 8 to 10 minutes until they turn bright red, then remove and allow to cool.
Once cooled, remove the lobster meat from the shells and chop it into bite-sized pieces. Discard the shells.
In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped lobster meat, mayonnaise, lemon juice, chopped chives, and diced celery. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Mix gently to avoid breaking up the lobster meat.
In a skillet, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat. Add the hot dog buns and toast them in the butter until they are golden brown on both sides.
To serve, if desired, place lettuce leaves inside the toasted bun, fill with the lobster mixture, and enjoy!
For a twist, consider adding a dash of hot sauce or paprika to the lobster mixture for extra flavor.
You can substitute some mayonnaise for Greek yogurt for a lighter version.
Serve with potato chips or a light salad for a complete meal.
