Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup unsalted butter 2 sticks
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips optional

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
  • In a large mixing bowl, melt the butter in the microwave or on the stovetop. Let it cool slightly.
  • Once cooled, whisk in the granulated sugar until smooth and well combined.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  • If using, fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  • Allow the brownies to cool in the pan before cutting them into squares.

Notes

These brownies can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
Feel free to customize with nuts or different types of chocolate chips for added flavor and texture.
For a more decadent treat, top with a scoop of vanilla ice cream when serving.
