Preheat your oven to 200°F (93°C).
Wash the strawberries thoroughly under cold water and gently pat them dry with a paper towel.
Remove the green stems and slice each strawberry in half lengthwise. For larger strawberries, you can slice them into quarters.
If desired, sprinkle the sliced strawberries with granulated sugar and a little lemon juice to enhance sweetness and prevent browning. Toss gently to combine.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and arrange the strawberry slices in a single layer, ensuring they are not touching each other.
Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and let the strawberries dry for about 3 hours, flipping them halfway through to ensure even drying.
The strawberries are done when they're dry but still slightly pliable, and they should not feel moist. Remove them from the oven and let them cool completely.
Store the dried strawberries in an airtight container at room temperature if you plan to use them within a couple of weeks, or refrigerate for longer storage.
For an extra twist, try adding cinnamon or vanilla extract to the strawberries before drying.
Use the dried strawberries in salads, desserts, or as a healthy snack on their own.
