In a large mixing bowl, dissolve the sugar in warm water and sprinkle the yeast on top. Allow the mixture to sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy. This activates the yeast.
Once the yeast mixture is ready, add the olive oil and salt to the bowl. Stir to combine.
Gradually add the all-purpose flour, 1 cup at a time, and mix with a whisk or wooden spoon until a dough begins to form.
Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured surface. Knead the dough for about 5-7 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
Place the kneaded dough back in the mixing bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and allow it to rise in a warm place for about 15 minutes or until it has doubled in size.
Once the dough has risen, preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C).
Roll out the dough to a thickness of about ½ inch using a rolling pin. Shape it into a round or rectangular shape, according to your baking sheet or pizza stone.
Place the rolled-out dough onto the baking sheet or preheated pizza stone. Add your favorite toppings and bake in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown.
Remove from the oven, slice, and serve hot!
