Equipment

  • 1 large mixing bowl
  • 1 measuring cups and spoons
  • 1 whisk
  • 1 rolling pin
  • 1 baking sheet or pizza stone
  • 1 oven

Ingredients

  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet active dry yeast (2 ¼ teaspoons)
  • 1 cup warm water (110°F/43°C, approximately 240 ml)
  • 1 tablespoon sugar (12 grams)
  • 1 teaspoon salt (6 grams)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (30 ml)

Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl, dissolve the sugar in warm water and sprinkle the yeast on top. Allow the mixture to sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy. This activates the yeast.
  • Once the yeast mixture is ready, add the olive oil and salt to the bowl. Stir to combine.
  • Gradually add the all-purpose flour, 1 cup at a time, and mix with a whisk or wooden spoon until a dough begins to form.
  • Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured surface. Knead the dough for about 5-7 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  • Place the kneaded dough back in the mixing bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and allow it to rise in a warm place for about 15 minutes or until it has doubled in size.
  • Once the dough has risen, preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C).
  • Roll out the dough to a thickness of about ½ inch using a rolling pin. Shape it into a round or rectangular shape, according to your baking sheet or pizza stone.
  • Place the rolled-out dough onto the baking sheet or preheated pizza stone. Add your favorite toppings and bake in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown.
  • Remove from the oven, slice, and serve hot!

Notes

For an extra flavor boost, consider adding herbs like oregano or garlic powder to the dough.
You can refrigerate any leftover dough for up to 2 days; just allow it to come to room temperature before rolling out.
To make it even closer to Pizza Hut pizza, brush the crust with melted butter before baking.
