Equipment

  • 1 large mixing bowl
  • 1 measuring cups
  • 1 measuring spoons
  • 1 mixing spoon or spatula
  • 1 rolling pin
  • 1 baking sheet or pizza stone
  • 1 parchment paper (optional)

Ingredients

  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet (2 ¼ teaspoons) instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup warm water (110°F or 45°C)

Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and instant yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes or until it becomes frothy.
  • Add the olive oil, salt, and half of the flour to the yeast mixture. Stir using a mixing spoon until combined.
  • Gradually add the remaining flour, mixing until a dough forms. If the dough is too sticky, add a little more flour.
  • Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured surface. Knead the dough for about 5-7 minutes until it is smooth and elastic.
  • Place the kneaded dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover it with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 10-15 minutes until it has doubled in size.
  • Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).
  • Once the dough has risen, punch it down to remove excess air. Roll it out on a floured surface into your desired thickness.
  • Transfer the rolled dough onto a lightly greased baking sheet or pizza stone, discarding parchment paper if used.
  • Add your favorite pizza toppings such as sauce, cheese, and vegetables.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 15 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted.

Notes

For a thicker crust, let the dough rise longer and roll it thicker.
Experiment with different types of flour for unique textures.
This dough can be prepped in advance and stored in the refrigerator for a couple of days or frozen for later use. Just remember to let it come to room temperature before rolling out.
