Taco Bell Nacho Fries

This homemade version of Taco Bell's famous Nacho Fries brings crispy seasoned fries topped with cheese and zesty toppings right to your kitchen. Perfect for a snack or party dish!

Ingredients
  

  • 4 medium-sized potatoes about 2 lbs, or 1 lb frozen French fries
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil if frying
  • 2 teaspoons taco seasoning mix
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup nacho cheese sauce
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • ¼ cup diced jalapeños optional
  • ¼ cup chopped green onions optional
  • to taste pincsh salt

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) if using fresh potatoes. If using frozen fries, follow package instructions.
  • If using fresh potatoes, wash and peel them, then cut them into thin strips to make fries.
  • Place the cut fries on the baking sheet and drizzle with vegetable oil. Sprinkle taco seasoning and a pinch of salt over the fries. Toss them to coat evenly.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden and crispy, flipping halfway through for even cooking.
  • While the fries are baking, prepare the toppings. Heat nacho cheese sauce in a small saucepan over low heat until warm.
  • Once the fries are done, remove them from the oven and sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the hot fries. Return to the oven for 2-3 minutes until cheese melts.
  • Serve the nacho fries in a large serving dish. Drizzle with warm nacho cheese sauce, and top with sour cream, diced jalapeños, and chopped green onions as desired.

Notes

For extra flavor, you can mix the taco seasoning with olive oil and marinate the fries for 30 minutes before baking.
Feel free to adjust the toppings to your liking; add guacamole or diced tomatoes for more freshness!
