Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups shredded white cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen cranberries If using frozen, thaw first.

  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • optional fresh thyme sprigs For garnish.

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, and half of the shredded white cheddar cheese. Stir until well blended and creamy.
  • In a separate bowl, mix the cranberries with the sugar and let them sit for about 5 minutes to macerate.
  • Add the cranberries to the cream cheese mixture, followed by the dried thyme, garlic powder, and black pepper. Stir until all ingredients are well combined.
  • Transfer the mixture to an oven-safe baking dish and spread it evenly. Top with the remaining shredded white cheddar cheese.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes or until the dip is bubbly and the cheese is melted and golden.
  • Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving.
  • Garnish with fresh thyme sprigs if desired. Serve warm with crackers, bread, or vegetable sticks.

Notes

For added flavor, you can mix in some chopped walnuts or pecans.
This dip can be prepared ahead of time; simply assemble it and store in the refrigerator until you're ready to bake.
Adjust the sweetness by using less sugar or a sugar substitute based on personal preference.
