Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • ΒΌ cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon minced ginger
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes Adjust to taste.
  • 1 cup chopped green onions For topping.
  • 1 cup shredded carrots For topping.
  • 4 servings cooked rice Brown or white.
  • sesame seeds For garnish.

Instructions
 

  • In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Use a wooden spoon to break up the meat as it cooks.
  • Once the beef is browned, drain excess fat if necessary, then add soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, minced ginger, and red pepper flakes. Stir well to combine.
  • Cook the mixture for an additional 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld and the sauce to thicken slightly. Stir occasionally.
  • While the beef mixture is cooking, prepare the rice according to package instructions.
  • In serving bowls, place a generous scoop of cooked rice. Top with the Korean ground beef mixture.
  • Garnish with chopped green onions, shredded carrots, and a sprinkle of sesame seeds.

Notes

Feel free to add other toppings such as sliced cucumbers or chopped cilantro for extra freshness.
